NB520 netbook series is equipped with the world’s first premium sound system from Harman Kardon. While the NB550 is more minimalist model that comes without the Harman Kardon speakers.
The added graphics muscles will certainly help power the NB550D’s HDMI output, as well as its two-channel audio from the separated Harman-Kardon speakers that reside in the netbook’s palm rest.
Over in the battery life department, Ontario sucks down just nine watts of power and Toshiba estimates the NB550D to last 9.5 hours of run time.
Furthermore, NB550 and NB520 includes Bluetooth, and triple USB 2.0 ports, VGA, SD-card reader and an optional 3G modem. Toshiba NB500 will retail for $450 although the NB520 will retail for $610. Both the models are available in Taiwan at the end of this month, and should go for sale in US by early next year.
