Acer has revealed details of its latest netbook, the Acer Aspire One 522, boasting of its superior multimedia ability and sleek looks.
With an AMD C-50 APU processor and AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics card, the netbook does seem equipped to handle HD video playback, although the 1GB of RAM will be a little limiting. The 10.1-inch LED backlit screen promises up to 22 per cent better energy efficiency than standard netbook displays.
Otherwise, the Aspire One 522 is a fairly typical netbook when it comes to specs: you’ll choose between WiFi b/g, WiFi b/g/n and optional 3G and Bluetooth 3.0, together with either 160GB or 250GB of storage. Rounding matters out are a webcam, 2GB of RAM, three USB 2.0 slots, an ethernet port and a multi-card memory reader.
Battery life is estimated at up to 3hrs with the 2200mAh 3-cell pack or 6hrs with the 4400mAh 6-cell pack. There’s no word on pricing yet, but the Aspire One 522 should land in Q2 2011, and my guess would be it’ll cost the standard $400.
Acer Aspire One 522 netbook has some nice battery saving systems. Battery life is rated at 6-hours with a 6-cell battery. Also features in the Acer Aspire One 522 includes 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 3 USB 2.0, Bluetooth+EDR, HD webcam, 10/100 LAN, HDMI output, VGA out and card reader.
