Netbook Toshiba NB520 Review,Price,Product Development

Toshiba has unveiled its latest 10 inch netbook, and it sports a dual core processor and better speakers than your average netbook. The Toshiba NB520 has a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor, 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive with a shock-absorbing system, and runs Windows 7 Starter Edition.

What sets the NB520 apart from the crowd are the stereo Haman Kardon speakers tucked into the palm rest area, which should give this netbook better sound than your average 10 inch mini-laptop… although I still wouldn’t expect miracles from any tiny speakers.

For hardware, the NB520 packs a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor (1.5-GHz, 1MB L2 cache, and 667Mhz FSB), 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB shock-absorber HDD, and a built in webcam. So, standard fare there.

What’s not so standard are the chassis color options available on the NB520: Warm Brown, Striking Lime Green, Daring Sunlight Copper, and Sophisticated Turquoise. We can’t lie. The way the lid color matches the touchpad buttons is very cool in a “We loved Trapper Keepers in elementary school”-kind of sense.

Running Windows 7 starter its got a few features that are a nice touch like sleep to charge and sleep to listen to music which is something I haven’t heard of before. We’ve also got an assortment of colours with warm brown, lime green, sunlight copper, turquoise. It’s going on sale in Singapore for $599 Singapore Dollars which is $450 USD.

While at the IT Month 2010 Preview we were able to snap a few shots of it and actually have plans to spend some time with it tomorrow to shoot a proper hands on video. For now these shots will have to do.
